Ana Almeida (PhD '12) is now a postdoctoral fellow in the Program.   Her essay "Inseparable from Your Own Life" is scheduled to appear in Common Knowledge.

Maria Pacheco de Amorim (PhD '11) is a tenured high-school teacher of Portuguese at the São Tomás School.

David Antunes (PhD '03) is an assistant professor in the School of Cinema and Drama  at the Lisbon Polytechnic Institute.  He has published A Magnanimidade da Teoria (2009), based on his dissertation, and has also worked as a dramaturgist.

Humberto Brito (PhD '07, postdoctoral fellow 2009-10) is a visiting assistant professor at the New University, Lisbon, where, among other things, he runs the Philosophy and Literature Network, of which the Program, together with the Institute for the Philosophy of Language, is a part.   An essay on Aristotle is forthcoming in Philosophy and Literature.  He keeps a blog at http://humbertobrito.com/ .

A French translation of Patrícia Cabral (PhD ´06,postdoctoral fellow 2006-10)'s dissertation is just out from Peter Lang.

Alexandra Caetano  (PhD '11) is a tenured high-school teacher of Portuguese and Portuguese as a foreign language at the Gil Vicente School. She is considering returning to the Program on a post-doc project.

António Carlos (PhD '08) is a tenured high-school teacher of Portuguese and French at the Pedro Jacques de Magalhães School.

Henrique Carvalho (PhD '06) is now a researcher at the Center for Classical Studies, at the University of Lisbon.

Ana Sofia Couto (PhD '11) teaches high-school Portuguese at the Luísa de Gusmão School.

In 2010, Rui Estrada (PhD '01, postdoctoral fellow 2005-06) was promoted to full professor at the Fernando Pessoa University, Oporto.  His fourth, and latest, book is On Rorty and Other Ethical Issues.

Ângela Fernandes (PhD '09) has returned to the Program as an assistant professor.  More details here.

João Figueiredo (PhD '06) has returned to the Program, where he is now an assistant professor and where he serves as Director of Graduate Studies.  He was recently granted tenure.  More details here.

Cristina Firmino (PhD '03) is now a tenured assistant professor in the Linguistics and Literature Department, at the University of Évora.

Claudia Fischer (PhD '07) is now an assistant professor in the German Department, University of Lisbon.  She has recently co-edited Fernando Pessoa's Film Scripts (2011).

Virgínia Graça (PhD '03) is a professor at ISLA, Lisbon Campus (Laureate International Universities).

Maria Sequeira Mendes (PhD '12) is now an assistant professor in the School of Cinema and Drama at the Lisbon Polytechnic Institute, as well as a researcher in the Catholic University, where she runs the Shakespeare reading group.   Her essay "The Taming of Interpretation: Literary Criticism and the Polygraph" is forthcoming in Law and Literature.

Victor K. Mendes (PhD '98) is an associate professor and the Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Portuguese at the University of Massachusetts (Dartmouth).  He co-founded and until recently edited Portuguese Literary and Cultural Studies.

Inês Morais (PhD '09) teaches French and Spanish in a sixth form college in the north of England.

Ricardo Namora (PhD ’09) is a researcher at the Center for Portuguese Literature, as well as a visiting professor in the Materialities of Literature doctoral program at the University of Coimbra.   Has recently published 40 anos de Teoria da Literatura em Portugal as well as a novel.

Conceição Pereira (PhD '07) is a tenured teacher of Portuguese at the José Augusto Lucas School.   She is a researcher in the Center for Lusophone LIteratures and Cultures at the University of Lisbon, where she also is a member of the Portuguese Teaching M.A. program.

Cecília Rego Pinheiro (PhD '03) works as a free-lance translator and has published translations of  Yeats, Cummings, Dickinson, Dorothy Parker and Nancy Mitford.  She has recently edited a volume of Vitorino Nemésio's letters.

The latest book of poetry by José Nunes da Rocha (PhD '08) was Cova Funda (&etc, 2011)

Susana Rosa (PhD '10) has applied to a postdoc fellowship to pursue her research on Portuguese Modernism.  Her dissertation is due to appear at the Gulbenkian Foundation Press.

Isaac Sassoon (PhD ’07) now teaches at the Institute of Traditional Judaism.   Cambridge University Press have recently published The Status of Women in Jewish Tradition , based on his Program dissertation.

Pedro Tiago Serras (PhD '12) is now a postdoctoral fellow in the Program.

Ana Soares (PhD '03, postdoctoral fellow 2007-10) currently works for the Camões Institute.  She is a tenured assistant professor at the University of Algarve, as well as a founding member and current president of AIM - Associação Portuguesa de Investigadores da Imagem em Movimento.

Elisabete Sousa (PhD '06, postdoctoral fellow 2010-11) is currently a researcher in the Philosophy Center at the University of Lisbon, where she works on Kierkegaard.  She is the author of Formas de Arte: a prática crítica de Berlioz, Kierkegaard, Liszt e Schumann (2008). Her  Portuguese translation of Fear and Trembling appeared in 2010.   Her translation of the first part of Either/Or has just appeared.
