STEP 1: APPLICATION FOR THE ERASMUS PROGRAMME IN THE HOME UNIVERSITY
Students who intend to enrol for an Erasmus study period at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon (FLUL) should first make sure that a bilateral agreement that enables the student mobility exists between their home university and the University of Lisbon - which Erasmus ID is P LISBOA 02. If such a partnership does exist, they should proceed to apply for the Erasmus programme at their home university.
STEP 2: OFFICIAL NOMINATION BY THE HOME UNIVERSITY
Once the home university has selected candidates to send to FLUL, it has to officially contact the Unidade de Relações Externas e Cooperação Internacional (URECI) - the External Relations and International Cooperation Office at FLUL - by e-mail ( Este endereço de e-mail está protegido de spam bots, pelo que necessita do Javascript activado para o visualizar ) or by fax (+351 217 920 30), in order to provide the following information for each candidate:
- Full name;
-Gender;
- Contact e-mail;
- Bilateral Agreement field area (Erasmus code);
- Study period (Academic year / Winter semester / Summer semester).
The nomination of the selected students must be sent by the following deadlines:

STEP 3: CONFIRMATION OF APPLICATION TO FLUL
After the initial official communication has been made, the URECI will contact each student by e-mail, according to the contact e-mail provided by the home university. The e-mail will include the next steps to finalise the Erasmus application, along with the deadlines by which to do so.
So that each student's application can be formalised for consideration by the URECI, each of the steps below must be completed by the appointed deadlines.
FIRST - SUBMISSION OF FLUL ONLINE APPLICATION FORM:
The student will have to access URECI's webpage in order to fill in and submit the FLUL online Application Form. This form includes personal information, home university information, linguistic ability, field of studies and intended study period.

The FLUL online Application Form must be filled in and submitted by the following deadlines:

We inform that the analysis to the information of the submitted FLUL online Application Form may take a while, therefore, we advise students to fill in and submit the form as soon as possible.
SECOND - PREPARATION OF APPLICATION DOCUMENTS
After the FLUL online Application Form is submitted, it will be processed by the URECI. During this time, the students should prepare the remaining documents necessary for their application, namely:
- Transcript of Records of the home university;
- Learning Agreement;
- Form of identification (ID) valid during the Erasmus period in Portugal;
- European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) or private health insurance policy;
- Passport-style colour photos;
- Proof of language level (for enrolment in language courses).
After the information from the FLUL online Application Form has been processed, students will receive the final version (in PDF) by e-mail. Once this document is received, the students must print and sign it.
Those students who indicated interest in living in the University Residences will also receive an accommodation request form which they should print, read and sign.
THIRD - SENDING OF APPLICATION DOCUMENTS BY POST
So that the application can be made official, and consequently considered by FLUL, each student applying, by himself or together with his home university, must send by post all of the application documents to the following address:

MANDATORY APPLICATION DOCUMENTS:
1- (original) FLUL Application Form, signed by the student;
2- (original) Transcript of Records, issued, signed and stamped by the home university;
3- (original) Learning Agreement, completed in accordance with the Horários 2013/14 (unavailable at the moment) or with the FLUL catalogue of courses, signed and stamped by the home university (Departmental Coordinator and Institutional Coordinator);
4- (photocopy) Identity Card or Passport, valid during the Erasmus period in Portugal;
5- (photocopy) European Health Insurance Card ou proof of European Health Insurance Card request or private health insurance policy;
6- (original) 2 passport-style photos;
ADDITIONAL APPLICATION DOCUMENTS:
a- (colour copy) Official language certificate or document, issued by a competent authority, proving the candidate's level (in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) in each language which he intends to study at FLUL during his Erasmus period;
b- (original) University Residence request form, signed by the student;
c- Additional documents which the student and home university consider relevant to the application.
